Overview

Poster sessions allow for the discussion of scholarly research and/or practice addressing higher education pedagogy with conference participants in an informal scholarly environment. Each of the two poster sessions will be 90-minutes in length. Each poster will be assigned to one of the two poster sessions (either Wednesday or Thursday).

Poster Preparation

Poster Dimensions and Materials

The maximum size for a poster is 42" wide X 42" tall (portrait). This allows two posters to be hung side-by-side on the provided poster stanchions. An optional downloadable PowerPoint template has been provided with the correct dimensions and suggested format.   Posters should be printed on standard or heavyweight paper and may be laminated or vinyl. Do not use tri-fold systems, tag board, foam board, cardboard or other materials that cannot be hung with conventional push pins.

Poster Design

Posters are meant to be conversation starters and reference sources. Images, graphs, and short bulleted lists will garner attention and direct discussion. Less is more when it comes to posters!

  • Upload file using the Presenter Utilities tool. You will receive email confirmation when your poster has been printed •
  • Minimize use of color

You will have access to the room one hour before the conference begins each day and up through the poster session start. We ask that posters be hung as early in the day as possible to avoid delays. Posters printed by CIDER will be transported to the conference site and hung by staff the morning of the session.

Poster Session and Lunch

Lunch will begin at 12:00 with the poster session following from 12:45-1:30. Poster presenters should be at their posters no later than 12:45. Handouts are optional. Audience size for the combined poster session and lunch is anticipated to be around 300 each day.
